Morgue Officer Who Molested Colleague Fined

A technical officer, 55, was fined $4,000 for molesting a colleague in their office. He could have been sentenced to up to two years in jail and given a $10,000 fine.

Police investigations revealed that the man had also rubbed the back of a 40 year old female colleague with his hand in April last year.

At the hearing, the married man apologised to the two women. He also offered compensation to both women.

Defence counsel Ms Gloria James said her client was remorseful and ashamed of the embarrassment he has caused to his family.

Criminal Lawyer, Gloria James asked for a fine to be imposed as her client will also be punished with the loss of his job.
