Cabby Fined $5k for Punching Neighbour
A taxi driver, who could have been jailed for up to two years, got away with a fine for punching his neighbour on the head when he pleaded guilty before the court yesterday.
According to the man’s Criminal lawyer, Ms Gloria James, her client was hit with a long umbrella which led to him retaliating.
There appears to have been past history between the men and ill-will had been brewing before the incident. Ms James, from Gloria James-Civetta & Co, further mentioned that she had previously submitted in court a petition from three residents who felt the victim to be a neighbourhood nuisance.
